Traditional honey distribution
Despite the weak honey year 2024 due to the weather, the bee colonies of the Bee Club were very hardworking last year and provided us with enough honey for the traditional honey distribution. A total of 28 kg of honey was extracted from the combs by the members of the Bee Club, then clarified and finally filled into 250 g jars. On 30 January, they were delivered to students and employees of the RPTU in Kaiserslautern. Within a short space of time, the entire honey stock of the Bee Club was sold out. We would like to thank all interested parties who tasted the honey, collected their own from us and supported the Bee Club with a donation. The donations will be used to purchase new equipment for the Bee Club so that our bees will do even better next year. This will enable the dedicated members of the working group, consisting of RPTU students and staff, to continue beekeeping next year, harvest honey and, of course, sell it to you again! At the moment the bees have withdrawn into their winter cluster to warm each other and are waiting there until the first rays of spring sunshine introduce the new bee year in February/March.
