Chair of Bioprocess Engineering - Equipment
The division of the laboratories is based on the process chains of bioprocess engineering. There are chemical laboratories for the preparation of media, a strain maintenance laboratory (including preparation of precultures), two pilot plant halls and laboratories for fermentation (S1 approval), a downstream laboratory and an analysis laboratory. The chair owns the following cultivation systems:
- Several bioreactors for submerged cultivation on a scale of 0.3 L to 100 L
- One solid-state fermenter (Terrafors)
- Special reactors for phototrophic emersion cultivation
- Anaerobic workbench for shaking cultures
- Various shakers (also coolable)
The analytical laboratory owns, among other things:
- LC-MS-MS
- Headspace-GC-MS
- Several HPLC systems (DAAD, UV, RI, fluorescence)
- 3D fluorescence spectroscopy
- NIR spectroscopy
- Confocal laser scanning microscope
- Perkin-Elmer pipetting robot
In the downstream area, several FPLC systems, a crossflow system on a pilot plant scale and a high gradient magnetic field separator (HGMS) are available.
