BioVT Receives Funding as Part of the MWG Program "School/University Interface"
To address the growing shortage of skilled professionals at an early stage, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate supports educational initiatives at the interface between schools and universities. The goal is to accompany children and young people in their personal development during their school years and spark their interest in scientific topics. With an annual total budget of €600,000, the state supports relevant programs at all eleven public universities in Rhineland-Palatinate. Through a variety of age-appropriate formats—ranging from early research experiences to targeted study orientation—young people are given the opportunity to get a taste of university life and gain insights into research, teaching, and campus culture.
RPTU Kaiserslautern will receive €70,000 from the total funding. This will support offerings such as early studies, children's university programs, and trial courses. Due to its broad engagement—including trial courses, iLAB workshops, the lending of iLAB experiment kits, and a research workshop for students within the RPTU-Zero framework—BioVT will also benefit from the funding.
