Wine Active Compounds (WAC) – In Vino Analytica Scientia (IVAS) 2026
The Chair of Bioprocess Engineering participated in the Wine Active Compounds (WAC) – In Vino Analytica Scientia (IVAS) 2026 conference in Dijon, France. Janik Haffelder presented current research from the VINO-KLIM project in a poster entitled “Sustainable Strategies to Ensure Reliable Alcoholic Fermentation under Climate Change – Driven Alterations of Grape Must Composition”. The presented work focused on climate-induced changes in grape must composition, their impact on wine fermentation, and the development of portable photometric assays for the rapid determination of fermentation-relevant nutrients.
From June 29 to July 3, 2026, the conference brought together around 250 researchers from 24 countries to discuss recent advances in wine analytics, viticulture and oenology. The event provided an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange and networking with international experts from academia and industry. Numerous discussions on grape must analysis, climate change adaptation in winemaking and innovative analytical methods provided valuable input for the ongoing VINO-KLIM and EFMoST research projects and established new contacts for future collaborations.
