RPTU-Zero Students dive into the World of Bioprocess Engineering

RPTUzero

For thousands of years, humans have used microorganisms to produce and preserve food such as bread, beer, cheese, and yoghurt. Today, modern biotechnology harnesses these natural processes for industrial applications, producing pharmacologically active substances, chemicals, and biofuels.

In June, BioVT once again offered participants of the “RPTU-Zero” orientation program the opportunity to experience laboratory work firsthand through the workshop “Microorganisms – The Natural Tools of Biotechnology”, providing exciting insights into the world of bioprocess engineering.
From growing microbes to tracking their production output – students got a firsthand look at how bioprocesses work in practice. From growing microbes to tracking their production output – students got a firsthand look at how bioprocesses work in practice.

The workshop was very well received by the participants, and we hope to welcome some of them to the Bio- and Chemical Engineering degree programme at RPTU next semester!
