Participation in the IWA Particle Separation Specialist Group Conference 2026 in Sapporo
The Chair of Bioprocess Engineering participated in the IWA Particle Separation Specialist Group Conference 2026 in Sapporo, Japan. Marcel Cwienczek presented his work within the WERA RTG in an oral presentation entitled “Integrating Mixing and Magnetic Separation with 3D-Printed Devices”. The contribution focused on the combination of mixing and magnetic separation in 3D-printed devices and provided insights into current research on integrated process concepts for particle separation and resource recovery.
From June 21 to 24, 2026, the conference brought together researchers and experts to discuss current developments in particle separation technologies and processes. The topics covered included filtration, sedimentation, flotation, sludge treatment, modelling and simulation, as well as hybrid and integrated separation processes. In addition, the conference provided valuable opportunities for scientific exchange and networking with international researchers in the field of particle separation.
