Roland Ulber has been elected as Chairman of the DECHEMA/VDI ‘Education and Innovation’ Division. The term of office is three years. The Section is dedicated to maintaining and expanding the high level of education and innovation in Germany and Europe. Education and innovation in process engineering, technical chemistry and biotechnology are the key not only to the future viability of the process industry, but also for numerous downstream sectors and therefore a decisive factor for the future of Germany as a business location. Education encompasses all stages of teaching, basic and advanced training and lifelong learning. Turning ideas into innovations depends crucially on analysing future trends and successful innovation management in order to turn research into new technologies and products.
