MINTwoch at Zweibrücken Youth Library: Experience science with fun!

MINTwoch - that means exciting experiments, fascinating discoveries and lots of fun with scientific and technical topics! On 17 March 2025, it was time again for a promising afternoon with the BioVT:

"No fungi, no pizza?" - Really?

17 curious children aged between 8 and 10 got to the bottom of this unusual question. First, they immersed themselves in the fascinating world of microorganisms and learned amazing things about the smallest living creatures on earth. The yeast fungus was particularly exciting: its growth behaviour under different conditions was studied in detail - with surprising results!

But science is not just for looking at - it should be experienced! That's why, at the end of the day, the theory turned into delicious practice: the yeast became a tasty pizza.

The conclusion of the young researchers? Microorganisms are exciting, experimenting is fun - and pizza with fungi simply tastes fantastic!
