Event: Sustainability as a career path
On 29 January 2026, the SIAK Sustainability Platform (Science & Innovation Alliance Kaiserslautern e.V.) and the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Sustainability Management, at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau invited guests to an intensive afternoon event entitled ‘Sustainability as a career path’. Around 80 participants from academia, business and the student body gathered at the think tank of the Kaiserslautern Innovation Centre ‘42’ to examine the transformation to sustainability not only as an ethical obligation, but also as a concrete, interdisciplinary field of work.
Embedded in the project ‘SustainAbility – Interdisciplinary Thinking and Action’, the event aimed to make the often abstract concepts of sustainability management tangible through concrete career examples and technological insights. The field of bioprocess engineering was represented by Dr Judith Stiefelmaier, who presented how bioprocess engineering contributes to sustainability.
