BioVT Student Team Participates in 99€ Bioreactor Competition

The Chair of Bioprocess Engineering participated in the 99€ Bioreactor Competition with a student team from RPTU Kaiserslautern.

The competition took place from July 9 to 10 at the Chair of Bioprocess Engineering at TU Dresden and was organized under the direction of Netzwerk Bioverfahrenstechnik Dresden e.V. The BioVT team, competing under the name “Die Lautrer Gurkentruppe”, consisted of Dominik Neu, Dinoshan Chandrabos, Martin Lu and Florian Bauer. As part of the competition, the students developed and operated a low-cost bioreactor concept, applying practical knowledge in bioprocess engineering, reactor design and experimental troubleshooting.

Despite initial difficulties and the failure of their stirrer during the competition, the team successfully completed the challenge and achieved 7th place out of 13 participating teams.
