BioVT at Himmelfahrtstagung on Bioprocess Engineering 2025

Members of the BioVT working group were part of the ‘’HIT’’- Himmelfahrtstagung on Bioprocess Engineering 2025 in Bremen. The HIT 2025 covered topics including bioprocess automation and control, metabolic and biochemical engineering, and scaling in bioprocesses, alongside poster sessions, keynotes, and networking activities over three days. Our team contributed with several outstanding presentations:

  • Wolfgang Laudensack: ‘’From Green Waste to Bio-Based Chemicals: Scale-Up of Grass Press Juice as a microbial substrate’’
  • Janik Haffelder: ‘’Precision fermentation for caffeine and other secondary metabolite production using plant cell cultures’’
  • Elisa Jekel Könnel: ‘’Preventing stuck-fermentation in winemaking: Yeast vitality testing and high-cell-count inoculation of aerobically produced S. cerevisiae’’
  • Marcel Cwienczek: ‘’Novel Magnetic Separation Techniques for Phosphorus Recovery from Wastewater’’

We appreciated the chance to exchange ideas, build new collaborations, and take part in well-organized social events. Connecting with colleagues from across the field was both enjoyable and professionally rewarding
