Am 24. Juli 2025 wird Herr Prof. Dr. Songgeng Li einen Gastvortrag mit dem Titel „Pyrolysis-based cascade utilization of carbon-based solid fuels“ an unserem Lehrstuhl halten. Zuhörer sind herzlich eingeladen.
Title: Pyrolysis-based cascade utilization of carbon-based solid fuels
Abstract: Pyrolysis is a fundamental step in carbon-based solid fuel thermal conversions. Some valuable chemicals can be extracted through pyrolysis, making the process more profitable and less polluted in comparation with direct combustion. Pyrolysis-based cascade utilization is especially suitable to treat the solid fuels with high volatiles such as low rank coal, biomass, and some organic wastes. A pyrolysis technology combined with a circulating fluidized bed combustion has been developed by IPE to realize valuable chemicals and liquid/gas fuel extraction. The technology has further been extended to pyrolysis-gasification and gasification-combustion processes. A demon facility has been constructed, a successful continuous operation was achieved.
CV Prof. Dr. Songgeng Li
Director of Clean Fuel Division of IPE, and an adjunct professor of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Li obtained his Ph.D in Chemical Technology in 2004 at IPE of CAS. He had worked as a visiting scholar at Western Kentucky University in USA and as a postdoctoral researcher at The Ohio State University. He joined in IPE in the late 2009. He received the Houdebang Chemical Technology Award for Young Talents by The Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China in 2015. His research interests include thermo-chemical conversion of coal and biomass, resourceful utilization of industrial and municipal wastes such as plastic wastes, municipal sewage and phospogypsum, and related pollutants emission control. He has published over 120 peer reviewed papers in journals and has more than 20 patents. Grants he has received include National Key R & D Program, National Natural Science Foundation,Strategic Priority Research Program of CAS, International Cooperative Program as well as funding from enterprises.
