The main goal of the commission for Equal opportunity and Family Affairs of the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering of the Technical University Kaiserslautern is to initiate steps to actualize equality opportunities. 

Equal opportunity during studies and academic career affects both sexes. The commission for equal opportunity and family affairs therefor advocates the arrangement of career and familiy as well as the removal of structural obstacles for female scientists. The commission is aiming to antagonize the under representation of women in studies in the area of academic employees as well as appointments of professorship and to promote women in university faculties actively. 

Organizing and operating informative meetings within the framework of  lecture forums as well as identification and realization of effective actions to increase the female quota on all scales are assignments of the commission.
