Shengqin Zhao studied polymer science and engineering at the Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST), China. He graduated in 2021 with his master thesis titled “Preparation of Lignin-based functional materials and its application in SBR”.

Since November 2021, he is working as a PhD student at the Chair of Composite Engineering at the Reinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität (RPTU). His research is on the tribology of rubber-based composites.
