Summary

Vassilios Yfantis studied chemical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and the Technical University of Dortmund. In his master thesis he dealt with the optimal production planning of industrial formulation plants. From April 2018 to March 2019 he worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Dortmund within the EU project "Improved energy and resource efficiency by better coordination of production in the process industries" (CoPro) on the optimal production planning of flexible production plants in consumer goods industry. Since January 2020 he is working as research assistant at the Chair of Machine Tools and Control Systems.

Research Fields

Vassilios Yfantis is working on the topic of distributed optimization. This finds applications in the areas of model predictive control, production scheduling, demand-side management and machine learning.
