Forschungsaufenthalt an der UC Davis in Kalifornien

Over the past few weeks, our employees Svenja Ehmsen and Matthias Klar have successfully advanced their research projects during a research stay at the University of California, Davis as part of the International Research Training Group (IRTG 2057). In IRTG 2057, the FBK collaborates with various institutes at RPTU and our partner universities at the University of California, Davis and University of California, Berkeley to solve production-oriented problems in the fields of engineering and computer science. During his stay, Matthias Klar investigated the potential of an AI- and simulation-based solution for automated factory layout planning. Svenja Ehmsen expanded and optimized a model for predicting the energy requirements of high-speed laser deposition welding.
