Dritte IRTG-Konferenz in Pacific Grove, Asilomar
The third and final conference of the International Research Training Group - IRTG 2057 on "Physical Modeling for Virtual Manufacturing Systems and Processes" took place this week at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Monterey, California.
Together with UC Davis and UC Berkeley, topics in mechanical engineering, scientific computing and physics were discussed. The contributions dealt with overarching topics of modeling and visualization of production engineering systems at process, machine and factory level. The main contributions to the conference came from doctoral students in the third and final cohort, supplemented by presentations from invited guests. The lively discussions led to an interdisciplinary exchange, new ideas and collaborations that will continue beyond IRTG 2057.
