DFG approves new transfer project T03 in SFB 926
The DFG has approved a new transfer project in the SFB 926 as of 01.04.2017: T03 "Design and production of planar calibration standards based on real component surfaces". The project is jointly led by Prof. Jörg Seewig (Chair of Metrology and Sensor Technology) and Prof. Jan C. Aurich (Chair of Production Engineering and Industrial Organization). The project will run for three years.
The aim of the transfer project is to systematically investigate the design and manufacture of practical calibration standards. This will enable measuring devices for recording 3D roughness parameters to be calibrated in a practical manner and the uncertainty of the measurement task to be carried out to be reduced. Together with the industrial project partners Optosurf GmbH, Ettlingen, Jenoptik GmbH, Villingen-Schwenningen, LT Ultra-Precision Technology GmbH, Herdwangen-Schönach and Matzdorf GmbH, Nuremberg, a model-based description of the production and measurement processes is being carried out. The comprehensive characterization of the influencing variables of the machining and measuring processes facilitates the calibration processes and thus their application in practice.
