19th IWA Conference on Sludge Management in Kyoto/Japan

The 19th IWA Conference on Sludge Management took place in Kyoto, Japan, from October 21 to 24, 2025. Jan Ludorf from the Chair of Particle Process Engineering (MVT) and Linda Müller (ReWa) attended the conference as representatives of the WERA Research Training Group.

The international conference provided a platform for scientific exchange on innovative processes in the field of sludge treatment and utilization. The representatives presented current research results on the topic of phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge and were able to take away valuable ideas for future research work.
