New video on application-driven 6G

How can future 6G networks meet the high demands of industrial production environments? This question was addressed by the Open6GHub project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.

As part of the subproject “OpenLab: Application-Driven 6G,” technological and functional requirements of industrial applications were analyzed and implemented in a joint research demonstrator. The work was carried out in collaboration with partners from RWTH Aachen University, the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

The demonstrator developed is based on a networks-in-networks concept for future 6G infrastructures: multiple subnetworks are coordinated by a dynamic spectrum management system, enabling robust and flexible communication in complex production environments.

The video provides an insight into the demonstrator and shows how the networks-in-networks concept can be implemented in a fully automated manufacturing environment.
