Yuxiao Zhao studied automotive engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology and graduated with a bachelor's degree. After that he studied mechanical and process engineering at Technische Universität Kaiserslautern where he graduated in 2019 with a diploma thesis titled "Auswirkung von Laststufenfolgen auf die tribologischen Eigenschaften eines Kunststoff/Metall-Tribosystems".

Since August 2019, Mr. Zhao is a PhD student at the Chair of Composite Engineering. His research is focused on the field of tribology.
