Visit from Calabria - Prof. Alberto Di Renzo at the Institute

On June 11, 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Alberto Di Renzo from the University of Calabria to our Chair of Mechanical Process Engineering. The internationally renowned expert in CFD-DEM simulations, multiphase flows and particle separation processes was a guest at the WERA Guest Lectures and gave a lecture entitled:
“Liquid-fluidized bed processes: hydrodynamics, mixing/segregation and CFD-DEM simulations”.

Following the lecture, Prof. Di Renzo visited our laboratories and research facilities and found out about current projects and key topics at the Chair. In constructive discussions, common research interests became clear and promising approaches for future scientific collaboration emerged.

We would like to thank Prof. Di Renzo for his visit, the professionally enriching lecture and the intensive exchange. We look forward to further contact and possible joint projects.
