New Chair appointed for the EFCE Working Party on Mechanics of Particulate Solids

At its last annual meeting, the Working Party on Mechanics of Particulate Solids (WP MPS) of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering elected Sergiy Antonyuk as its new Chair, effective from 2026.

He succeeds Diego Barletta (University of Salerno, Italy), who held the position for six years.

The WP MPS is part of the EFCE’s European network and brings together scientists as well as industry professionals working in the field of particulate solids mechanics. Its aim is to promote scientific exchange, discuss current developments, and initiate and carry out joint activities such as conferences and workshops, as well as international research and training projects. The EFCE itself connects numerous national societies and working parties in the field of chemical engineering across Europe and has more than 100,000 members.
