COVID19 / Investigation of a new low-cost ventilation system in a high school

The efficiency of a new low-cost pilot ventilation setup for the extraction of potentially virus-containing human aerosols from indoor air was investigated. This exhaust air system was set up in school classes at the Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Landau (Palatinate region) according to the concept of MPI Mainz for Chemistry and examined in the project. The measurements of the aerosol spread and simulation of the flow in the room air showed high efficiency and potential of such cost-effective systems. The research results were published in a journal (in German):

Antonyuk, S., Kerner, M., A.: Untersuchung einer Testabluftanlage zur Reduzierung der Aerosolausbreitung in Schulräumen, F&S Filtrieren und Separieren 03 (2021).
